Overnight Baker

Overview

COBS Bread is looking for a personable baker to join the team in Port Moody, British Columbia. This is an overnight role that begins at 2:00 AM and is focused on preparing fresh baked goods for the community each day. The position is suited to someone with a positive attitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, as no previous baking experience is required.

What you will do

• Support the morning bake by working with a small team and following established recipes closely.
• Help maintain a clean bakery and contribute to a strong customer experience.
• Read production schedules and recipes, measure and combine ingredients, shape dough, and manage products through the ovens.

Requirements

• Be comfortable starting early and working either independently or alongside a small team.
• Bring a positive attitude, good organization, and pride in serving the community.
• Show commitment to the team, the bakery, and your own development.
• Meet the physical demands of the role, including continuous standing and walking.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 22 kg regularly.
• Be able to turn, reach, push, pull, and occasionally bend forward.
• Be able to lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 meters.
• Use both hands continuously, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, and occasional forceful gripping.
