Role Overview
The Operations Field Support position is open for entry-level individuals or those with prior experience in rock tools or underground mining. Based onsite at a Western Australian underground mining client, this role involves direct customer interaction and operational responsibilities within the Rock Tools (ROTO) segment. Comprehensive training is provided to support success in the role and open pathways for progression into advanced operational, sales, service, supervisory, or management careers.
The position offers flexibility to work either FIFO (fly-in fly-out) from Perth or reside in Kalgoorlie, with FIFO candidates needing reliable access to Perth Domestic Airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily underground vehicle operation and supply management of drill consumables to rigs and drill sites.
- Maintaining and managing inventories of drilling consumables.
- Recording accurate data daily using Sandvik’s iPad-based systems.
- Analyzing and reporting on the condition, performance, and failures of drilling consumables.
- Engaging positively with mining operators at the client site.
- Sorting, assessing, recording, and servicing used drill bits and consumables.
Essential Requirements
- Valid manual C Class driver's license.
- Reliability to work on an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster with 12-hour day shifts.
- Physical fitness and capacity for labor-intensive tasks, including lifting at least 40 kg.
- Ability to pass employment medicals, police clearance, and drug testing.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
- Adaptability and resilience.
- Proficient communication skills in English.
