Operations Assistant (Turnaround)

Key Responsibilities

• Managing Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems to ensure proper authorization for work activities.
• Ensuring proper isolation and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures are correctly implemented and maintained.
• Overseeing safety protocols related to confined space entry and work.
• Controlling line breaking and managing first break operations safely.
• Coordinating multiple simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) to prevent conflicts and hazards.
• Supervising high-risk work activities to maintain safety compliance.
• Promoting process safety management and chemical safety awareness on site.
• Providing field coordination and operational support to facilitate smooth turnaround execution.

• Strong expertise in process safety and hazard risk management.
• Excellent situational awareness coupled with effective risk assessment skills.
• Proficient in communication and coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Ability to make sound safety-related decisions under pressure conditions.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

• At least 10 years of professional experience working in refineries or petrochemical plants.
• Certification in WSQ Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant.
• Confined Space Safety Assessor Certification is required.
• Certification for Managing Work at Heights is essential.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in managing turnaround or shutdown projects within refinery or petrochemical environments.
• Availability to commit to a 6-month contractual engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience holding authority in permit-to-work systems.
• Knowledge and familiarity with Lockout-Tagout systems, SIMOPS coordination, and isolation procedures.
• Additional advantage for candidates versed in industry standards such as API, OSHA, and engineering best practices.
