About the Role

If you enjoy working outdoors and take satisfaction in maintaining parks and public spaces, this opportunity with the Open Spaces team at Shellharbour City Council is for you. You will help care for parks, reserves, and recreational sites that benefit the local community daily. As part of a cooperative team, your tasks will include various grounds upkeep duties, operating mowing machinery, and supporting the maintenance of Council’s open spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance and upkeep of public parks and reserves.
• Operate lawn mowing and related maintenance equipment effectively and safely.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure open spaces are well-maintained and meet quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in open space maintenance, parks upkeep, or similar outdoor work is essential.
• Possession or willingness to acquire a White Card, Traffic Controller ticket, and Farm Chemical Users Certificate.
• Hold a valid NSW Class C Driver Licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes.

Benefits and Conditions

• Permanent full-time role with 38 hours per week and option for a 9-day fortnight schedule.
• Starting weekly salary range between $1160 and $1281, depending on qualifications and experience.
