Open Shift Administrator (m/w/d)

About the role

As part of the internal IT organization, you will help run a mission-critical platform that has a direct impact on the wider technology landscape. The role sits in a modern environment centered on Kubernetes, on-premise infrastructure, and automation, with a strong focus on keeping core systems highly available, stable, and reliable.

You will contribute to GovTech solutions designed to make everyday life easier for millions of people and support the broader goal of strengthening public institutions for the 21st century.

This position is centered on operations rather than feature development. You will take ownership of the stability, security, and ongoing improvement of the Kubernetes/OpenShift platform and act as a key contact for the operation of container-based core infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure dependable operation of the Kubernetes platform (OpenShift / OKD) in an on-premise environment.
• Focus on availability, stability, and performance instead of building new features.
• Operate, secure, and continuously refine Kubernetes/OpenShift clusters.
• Maintain high availability and handle monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and logging solutions.
• Investigate and resolve incidents related to clusters, networking, and storage.
• Take care of capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Run and evolve storage solutions such as Ceph, networking components such as ingress, routes, and load balancers, and authentication services such as Keycloak and Active Directory.
• Automate operational workflows through infrastructure as code and scripting.
• Serve as a central point of contact for the operation of the container-based core infrastructure.

What we are looking for

• Several years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters, gained after a degree or vocational training in an IT-related field.
• Strong practical expertise with OpenShift / OKD.
• Solid knowledge of Linux and infrastructure environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and incident management tooling.
• Good understanding of highly available and production-critical systems.
• A structured and solution-oriented working style, with the ability to stay calm and maintain oversight in critical situations.

You will work with Windows Server, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Fedora CoreOS, Kubernetes, OpenShift / OKD, Ceph, Prometheus, Grafana, Keycloak, Active Directory, PowerShell, Bash, Azure DevOps, Git, YAML, Helm, Supermicro servers, Rocket.Chat, Teams, and Skype.
