About the Role
Talbot Hotel Midleton, a proud member of the Talbot Collection and recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2025 by the Great Place to Work, is seeking an experienced Night Manager. This position involves taking full charge of the hotel during night hours, ensuring exceptional guest service at all times with special attention to conference and function activities as well as all public spaces, guaranteeing complete guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the night shift team, ensuring staff are appropriately rostered and assigned duties effectively.
- Act as the Duty Manager on site during night hours.
- Prepare the hotel according to established Standard Operating Procedures ahead of each shift.
- Coordinate with the front office to meet all client requirements.
- Maintain guest safety throughout the night by conducting thorough safety checks and night audits.
- Ensure meeting rooms are set up, broken down, and reset per weekly function schedules.
- Monitor punctuality and dress code compliance of staff, including uniform and name badge standards, and adherence to clocking policies.
- Handle guest complaints promptly and escalate major issues to the General Manager.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to meet operational objectives and optimize resource use.
- Assist with creating and inputting weekly rosters into the Timepoint system, considering business needs, and ensure timely completion.
- Oversee and update staff attendance records in Timepoint daily to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Stay informed about daily business activities across all hotel departments.
- Maintain open communication with staff and management via meetings, discussions, and handovers.
- Inform guests about hotel services and facilities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies regarding fire safety, health and safety, hygiene, food safety, customer care, and security.
- Collaborate with all department heads and other duty managers to maintain a high service standard.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager to facilitate smooth departmental and overall business operations.
- Participate in all operational and Heads of Department meetings.
Candidate Profile
- Must possess computer literacy, be dependable, and well-organized.
- Exhibit proactivity and a collaborative team spirit.
- Previous experience in a comparable hotel night manager role is essential; prior bar or reception experience is desired.
- Flexible availability is required to accommodate shift work and weekend shifts.
