Role Overview
Join the RAC's Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the Bournemouth area. This role focuses on delivering scheduled vehicle servicing and repairs directly to customers at their homes or workplaces without emergency callouts or roadside breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle servicing and safety checks aligned with RAC standards.
- Utilize advanced mobile diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle issues.
- Carry out detailed repairs typically done in workshop settings while on the road.
- Provide customers with professional advice and recommendations based on inspections.
- Work according to a clear digital schedule of pre-booked appointments, eliminating reactive work.
Working Conditions and Schedule
Operate within the Bournemouth cluster covering Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham, and Swanage. The role involves a 40-hour workweek with core hours from 8:30AM to 5:00PM, including one Saturday out of every four. Guaranteed overtime options are available to increase earnings.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary of 40,178 with potential on-target earnings up to 52,000 through bonuses and overtime.
- Guaranteed overtime option to raise base pay to 44,385 plus further overtime earnings.

Candidate Requirements
- Either NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
