Overview
We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff specializing in Medical Research to join a leading biotechnology research organization. This full-time remote position focuses on designing computational methods for analyzing medical datasets and developing machine learning algorithms to enhance diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing medical research through algorithm optimization, collaboration across disciplines, and dissemination of findings in scholarly journals and conferences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and validate machine learning models tailored for medical imaging and clinical decision-making support.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, data scientists, and software engineers to transform research outputs into practical, scalable healthcare solutions.
- Optimize algorithmic performance, accuracy, and efficiency when handling large-scale medical data collections.
- Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed academic journals and present at scientific meetings to propel forward the medical research field.
- Create and enhance internal tools and frameworks to streamline and accelerate medical research workflows.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Doctoral degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines with a focus on medical applications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling applied specifically to medical data.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Julia plus experience with medical data libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience working with medical imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, and X-ray along with associated toolkits including ITK, SimpleITK, or MONAI.
- A solid record of publishing in peer-reviewed medical or AI research journals.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards including DICOM and HL7, as well as regulatory frameworks like HIPAA and GDPR.
- Capability to thrive in dynamic research settings that involve iterative development cycles.

Compensation
