Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our Damastown office in Dublin 15, supporting a role with some hybrid work flexibility dependent on candidate circumstances. The position resides within our fire protection sector; prior fire protection system knowledge isn’t essential, but a solid grasp of mechanical equipment, materials, and processes is vital. Travel may be involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tenders for diverse large-scale projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
  • Manage the entire tender process from start to finish.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assess, analyze, and verify quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Issue tender Requests for Information (RFIs) and assess client responses collaboratively.
  • Compile tender review and progress reports alongside the estimating team for management evaluation.
  • Deliver final estimates to the Group Estimating Manager and Director.
  • Participate in meetings and conduct site visits as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Possess 2 to 5 years of experience in a comparable estimating position.
  • Hold a relevant degree qualification.
  • Demonstrate strong accuracy and capacity to operate effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and time management capabilities.
  • Possess an analytical mindset combined with strong negotiation and detailed-oriented abilities.
  • Be proficient with computer tools, especially Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Have solid problem-solving aptitude, capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
