Global Delivery Services Centre (GDSC) is a vital unit enhancing project delivery worldwide. Specializing in both technical and digital domains, GDSC supports all project phases from concept to completion, adhering to international design standards and regulations. Collaborating globally, the team contributes to building projects such as commercial, residential, retail, education, healthcare, airports, data centers, hotels, sports, theme parks, metro and airport stations. The services span the full asset lifecycle including advisory, consulting, design, delivery, and asset management.
Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will manage Public Health Engineering (PHE) projects targeting global markets, overseeing planning and design of building services including water, sanitary and rainwater drainage systems. Coordination with other mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams is essential to ensure integrated design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and design of PHE components (water supply, sanitary and rain/storm drainage), coordinating with M&E, structure, and architecture teams.
- Develop concept designs including spatial proofing and assess various options considering architectural and structural inputs aligned with load/demand estimates.
- Perform design calculations following relevant British Standards, CIBSE Guide G, IOP, IPC, UPC, and optionally Middle East standards and local regulations such as DM/ADM and DEWA.
- Assure all designs comply with company quality standards and conduct thorough review of outputs from PH Modellers, collaborating closely with BIM teams for clash detection and resolution.
- Ensure timely completion and delivery of comprehensive design documentation.
- Utilize and promote digital automation of Public Health Engineering where applicable.
- Mentor junior staff by sharing expertise and experience.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering (Environment), or Public Health Engineering.
- At least 9 years of experience specializing in Public Health Engineering/plumbing design with strong knowledge of interdisciplinary coordination and clash resolution.
- Experience working on diverse buildings and projects including residential, commercial high-rises, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, sports facilities, gyms, recreational clubs, theme parks, airports, metros, and defense buildings.
- Proficient in design of internal and external water supply, sewerage, and drainage systems.
- Desirable but not mandatory knowledge of irrigation distribution networks.
- Strong familiarity with British Standards and Codes applicable to plumbing and sanitary drainage; knowledge of local authorities’ codes in various countries, especially UK, with Middle East and ANZ region experience being a plus.
- Understanding of sustainable and green building design practices and rating systems as an added advantage.
- Capability to independently lead design activities with minimal supervision and manage a team of technicians and modellers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with client interaction experience.
- Proficiency in relevant design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks; BIM modeling skills especially Revit are compulsory.
- Experience with ACC and BIM 360 workflows is essential.

Employment Requirements

Location options include Bengaluru, Karnataka or Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The contract is permanent and full-time, under the Buildings market and Building Services discipline.
