Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer serving as a Commissioning Engineer will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of Level 2 to Level 5 commissioning processes for assigned systems or project areas. This role ensures strict adherence to technical standards, quality benchmarks, and readiness for project acceptance, by managing technical delivery, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead verification to confirm installation readiness and compliance with commissioning entry requirements.
• Review and sanction installation checklists, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Method Statements.
• Organize and observe commissioning at the individual equipment level, verifying correct functioning, settings, controls, and protective systems.
• Ensure stability prior to advancing to broader system testing phases.
• Facilitate and witness system functional testing, checking sequences of operations and system response conformity with design and operational needs.
• Support Integrated Systems Testing by validating system resilience and recovery measures, and assist during client demonstrations for acceptance.
• Authorize transitions between commissioning stages within the defined responsibilities.
• Advise on approval or rejection of testing outcomes based on evaluation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in commissioning roles, especially in mission-critical or highly complex facilities.
• Demonstrable expertise in Data Centre commissioning or similar critical infrastructure environments.
• Excellent capabilities in technical documentation and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

• High accuracy and thoroughness in testing activities.
• Prompt resolution and closure of issues arising during commissioning.
• Comprehensive and accurate documentation maintenance.
