Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsperson to join our Design & Drafting team based at our Rhodes, Sydney headquarters. This role involves contributing to mechanical projects across fuel, chemical, water, mining, and Defence sectors, focusing on new construction and maintenance of tanks and associated mechanical and structural infrastructure.

Key Duties

• Create precise 3D models and detailed engineering and fabrication drawings using tools like AutoCAD, Plant3D, and Inventor.
• Develop Bills of Materials and assist with project-related documentation.
• Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of drafting outputs.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Support projects throughout all design phases, from feasibility to detailed CAD design.
• Maintain accurate drawing records and contribute to improving CAD standards.

Requirements

• Possess a Trade Certificate or Degree in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience with AutoCAD, Plant3D, Inventor, or similar 3D design software. Candidates with less experience may still be considered.
• Experience in SMP and tank engineering design within heavy brownfield industries, preferably in oil and gas sectors.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have Australian work rights.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
