Overview
This opportunity is for specialists who want to contribute to project-based AI work for major technology companies. The focus is on testing, assessing, and helping improve AI systems. This is not a permanent role; participation happens on a project-by-project basis.

What you'll do
- Develop original computational mathematics questions that reflect genuine mathematical research-style workflows.
- Write problems that require Python-based solving, using tools such as NumPy, SciPy, and SymPy.
- Build tasks that are computationally demanding and not practical to solve manually in a short time frame.
- Create challenges that involve deeper reasoning in topics such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis.
- Shape problems around real-world mathematical practice or research-oriented use cases.
- Check solutions with Python and standard scientific/mathematical libraries.
- Write clear problem statements and supply verified correct answers.
Candidate profile
This role suits mathematicians with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work.
- A degree in Mathematics, either Pure or Applied, or a closely related field.
- Solid Python skills for numerical validation; equivalent experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or any other programming language is acceptable.
- At least 2 years of professional experience, which may come from applied, research, or teaching work.
- Hands-on experience with numerical methods and symbolic computation.
- The ability to design tasks that resemble real mathematical research workflows.
- Understanding of computational complexity theory.
- Strong written English at C1 level or above.
How the engagement works
The process follows these steps: apply, complete qualification checks, join a project, complete assigned tasks, and then receive payment.
Time commitment
During active project phases, the expected workload is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and is not guaranteed. It applies only while a project is active.
Compensation
Compensation on this project can reach the equivalent of $35 per hour, depending on your experience level and contribution pace. Pay levels may differ across other projects based on scope, complexity, and required expertise.
