Manager, Digital Solutions (AI Initiatives)

About The Role

This position involves supporting the Branch Head in leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives for Operations Support Information Technology (OSIT) systems. The goal is to enhance productivity for users within the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

Key Responsibilities

• Benchmark AI developments with Whole-of-Government (WoG) agencies to ensure alignment with the National AI Strategy and identify best practices for implementation.
• Collaborate closely with various business domain owners to thoroughly understand their requirements.
• Conduct trials and proof-of-concept for potential AI use cases.
• Develop comprehensive plans and allocate necessary resources for scaling up AI integration within OSIT networks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and national strategies.

Challenges

• Keeping pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape, especially in AI, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT).
• Proactively identifying and assessing emerging trends for their relevance to MINDEF/SAF needs, and swiftly integrating these technologies into strategies and initiatives.
• Effectively collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders while managing competing priorities and regulatory compliance.

What We Are Looking For

• A strong educational background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or equivalent professional qualifications.
• A preference for at least 5 years of experience in a technical or engineering environment.
• Demonstrated strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Solid understanding of AI and related advancements, including cloud computing and IoT.
