Mainframe Developer

Overview

Join our team as a Mainframe Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining COBOL programs tailored for mainframe systems. Collaborate effectively with diverse teams to understand business needs and deliver solutions employing VSAM technology. You will also create advanced data processing workflows using JCL to enhance system efficiency and take charge of resolving program execution, data consistency, and system fault issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain mainframe applications based on COBOL programming.
• Work alongside cross-departmental teams to gather requirements and implement VSAM-based solutions.
• Develop sophisticated Job Control Language (JCL) scripts to streamline processing.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to application performance, data accuracy, and system errors.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Possess 2 to 11 years’ experience in mainframe application development or support.
• Proficient in managing COBOL, CICS, Db2, and VSAM environments.
• Skilled in handling Level 3 production support, incident handling, problem resolution, and change management.
• Experienced with mainframe diagnostic and performance tools including File-Aid, File Manager, Xpeditor, Abend-AID, IBM OMEGAMON, or Broadcom SYSVIEW.
• Familiarity with source/version control tools such as Endevor or Changeman for production deployment processes.
• Exposure to Agile, DevOps, ITIL, or IT service management methodologies.
• Educational qualification includes Bachelor’s degrees like B.E., B.Tech, or Master’s in relevant computer disciplines from accredited institutions.

Additional Information

• Work locations: Gurgaon or Chennai, India.
• Shift Hours: Two shifts available - 11 AM to 8 PM and 2 PM to 11 PM.
• Salary Range: Annual compensation ranges from 900,000 to 2,500,000 INR.
