Job summary
The role focuses on coordinating driver dispatch, handling overflow movements, and checking driver hours of service. It also includes yard control work, such as directing trailer movements to shifters across the yard and in unloading areas during sorting operations, often with several shifters involved.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate loads across the feeder network according to service priority, transit time, and sorting signals.
- Dispatch drivers and monitor load movement within the country.
- Track and verify drivers’ hours of service.
- Oversee yard control activities and coordinate trailer movements for shifters.
- Support unloading and sorting operations where multiple shifters are active.
- Manage overflow coordination as required.
Required qualifications
- Practical experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Ability to enter data quickly and accurately.
