Role Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and culturally sensitive Localization Testing Manager for a one-year contract focused on a leading Digital Media Services client. This role involves leading linguistic and functional quality assurance testing across diverse languages, platforms including mobile, web, smart TVs, and streaming devices, and international markets.

You will serve as a crucial liaison between Welocalize and the client’s product teams, ensuring localized user experiences are functionally flawless, contextually precise, and culturally suitable while aligning testing activities with the overall Quality Program.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee comprehensive linguistic and functional localization QA for digital media platforms, user interfaces for streaming, metadata, and promotional content.
  • Design, update, and expand test plans, cases, and executions with clear, actionable bug reporting for engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with external testing providers, in-country linguistic reviewers, and localization project managers to ensure quality, scalability, and punctual test coverage.
  • Work closely with client engineers, product owners, content designers, and regional experts to align with the Localization Operations Program.
  • Collect and integrate market-specific linguistic and cultural feedback to promote inclusive and locally relevant user experiences.
  • Detect localization bug trends, analyze systemic challenges, and recommend process improvements for resources like translation memories and style guides.
  • Manage testing across multiple devices to maintain consistent UI layouts, font rendering, and function across platforms like iOS, Android, Web, and OTT.
  • Advocate for culturally appropriate and inclusive content throughout all localized products.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ direct experience in localization QA, linguistic testing, internationalization, or global release validation, ideally within digital media, streaming, or consumer tech sectors.
  • Strong grasp of functional QA methods, test execution, regression testing, and comprehensive familiarity with SDLC on various mobile and web applications.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating complex linguistic QA across multiple languages and markets, handling significant content volumes.
  • Advanced knowledge of cultural sensitivities, local regulations, adaptation best practices, and inclusive language compliance in digital media.
  • Excellent communication skills with keen attention to linguistic accuracy and UI visual quality including typography and layout.
  • Fluent professional English and at least one additional language with proven ability to assess and benchmark translation quality internationally.
  • Experienced in using standard QA and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, XBench, BrowserStack, and modern TMS platforms.
