Role Overview
The Lead Payment Analyst will oversee the comprehensive management of investigator and site payment processes within clinical trials, including payment calculations, purchase order management, and clinical trial payments. This role serves as a key liaison between Contract Centralized Services (CCS) and study teams, providing support on complex issues and guidance as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver training to study teams regarding payment procedures and process support.
- Facilitate communication and resolution of issues between CCS colleagues and study teams.
- Analyze study-specific Total Contract Value (TCVC) and purchase order calculators, utilizing clinical trial management systems (CTMS), CTAs, and coordinating with SCMs, LTMs, and SMs.
- Generate and distribute payment notifications to clinical sites.
- Address inquiries and resolve issues raised by clinical sites and study teams.
- Identify and rectify failed payments related to purchase requisitions.
- Exhibit a customer-centric approach to drive solution-oriented actions.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in local systems such as mCTMS, RAVE, iCertis, and Accounts Payable (A/P) platforms.
- Support and resolve payment-related questions from clinical sites and study teams.
Leadership and People Management
- Provide training to new CCS team members on processes and technologies.
- Manage and develop a virtual global team, including performance management and talent development.
- Foster team effectiveness and growth.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.
- At least 4 years of direct experience with clinical payment processing and related systems.
- Demonstrated AI literacy and the ability to responsibly apply AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Innovation-driven mindset and ability to work independently.
- Preferred knowledge of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, FCPA, and Safe Harbor.
- Prior experience managing virtual teams and people management is an advantage.
Additional Information
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- The role involves 15-20% travel.
- This position reports directly to the Manager of Payments.
