Role overview

A growing engineering business in the Bradford area is hiring a Lagger to support expansion. The organisation works across the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of production plant and equipment for the chemical, water and gas industries. This position is based at their chemical site.

What the job involves

The Lagger will fit insulating materials to pipework, ducting, boilers and related equipment to deliver thermal insulation, frost protection and fire resistance. The work includes measuring, cutting, applying and fastening materials with wire while following the required safety rules.

Benefits

• Annual pay of £36,544.56
• Equivalent hourly pay of £18.02, with overtime at 1.5 times the standard rate (£27.03)
• 39-hour week, Monday to Friday, with overtime available
• 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays, increasing with service

Experience and qualifications

Applicants should have an apprenticeship or a relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or a similar field, along with solid prior experience in lagging or thermal insulation of pipework. Experience in a chemical or other high-hazard environment, including COMAH settings, is required.
