Job Overview
The Lab Analyst will support laboratory operations ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of products across Refinery, Petrochemical, Polymer, Elastomer, Polyester, and New Energy sectors. Under supervision, the incumbent will perform precise testing, analysis, and quality control for various products.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and preparing production process samples with correct labelling, documentation, and handling to maintain sample integrity.
- Conduct routine testing using instruments like chromatography, spectroscopy, and titration.
- Document and record test results and observations meticulously in official registers and logs.
- Update Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with analyzed data and notify supervisors for result validation.
- Identify and report discrepancies or deviations in test outcomes to relevant authorities promptly.
- Contribute to calibration, validation, and upkeep of lab equipment to guarantee accurate test results.
- Properly dispose of residual samples following lab safety protocols.
- Inspect incoming routine samples and distribute them appropriately within laboratory sections.
- Communicate any irregularities or missing samples to shift supervisors proactively.
- Adhere strictly to laboratory safety standards, including handling hazardous materials carefully according to established guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure all lab work complies with these standards.
- Perform daily operations in alignment with all relevant corporate policies, processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructions.
- Engage in continuous process improvement initiatives such as LEAN Six Sigma, DMAIC analysis, 5S, QCC, and Kaizen methodologies.

- Zero health and safety regulatory penalties.
- Dependability of reported laboratory results.
- Proficiency in LIMS and SAP-QM systems.
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001, AS9100D.
Collaborations
Works internally with supervisors/managers, laboratory team, quality control/assurance, production, research and development, and health and safety departments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably Chemistry; Master’s in Chemistry is favored.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control roles.
