Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Press Tool Designer with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in Tool & Die Design, specifically skilled in designing press and stage tools. This role involves preparing precise 2D and 3D tool designs, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to support tool development, and ensuring the production feasibility of designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop press tools including stage and progressive tools for sheet metal components and assemblies.
- Create comprehensive 2D engineering drawings, 3D models, and detailed specifications.
- Work collaboratively with tool makers, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve tool-related challenges and minimize downtime.
- Participate in design review sessions and integrate feedback to improve tooling designs.
- Ensure that all designs conform to quality, safety, and manufacturability standards.
- Maintain proper documentation, track revision histories, and comply with established design procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Tool Design from reputed institutes such as NTTF or GTTC.
- B.E. in Mechanical Engineering along with a postgraduate diploma in Tool Design from NTTF or equivalent programs is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ relevant experience in press tool design.
- Strong foundational knowledge of progressive tooling concepts.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings including GD&T standards.
- Good understanding of tool materials, including tool steels, punches, die components, and associated manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail ensuring precision and quality.
