About the Role
This position involves supporting enterprise network operations for a trusted federal partner engaged in vital national security, defense, and public service programs. The organization prides itself on operational excellence and commitment to mission success while managing essential government systems and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day functioning of enterprise networks, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and external connections, by monitoring performance and assisting with routine tasks.
- Compile and maintain comprehensive reports on bandwidth usage and network utilization to track performance trends over time.
- Monitor and report on key network performance indicators, availability metrics, and service levels to ensure compliance with SLAs.
- Assist in drafting and distributing notifications about planned outages or maintenance to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to incident response processes by supporting mid and senior engineers with monitoring, updating tickets, and performing basic troubleshooting.
- Keep operational data accurate and up to date by managing records within enterprise systems such as ServiceNow.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Prior experience in IT operations, network operations, or technical support within an enterprise context.
- Competence in generating and maintaining reports on network performance, usage, and availability.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking principles including routing, switching, and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in maintaining precise technical documentation and operational records.
- Familiarity working with ticketing systems like ServiceNow for managing operational tasks.
- Educational background of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline, or comparable experience.
- At least one year of relevant professional experience in network operations or IT support roles.
