Role overview
The Junior General Accountant will be part of the Finance & Accounts department and will report directly to the Finance Director. This position supports the finance team by maintaining precise accounting records, assisting with reporting activities, and helping ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal company procedures. It is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working under supervision, and eager to build experience in a finance role.
Key responsibilities
- Enter day-to-day financial transactions into the accounting system.
- Support the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
- Keep general ledger balances accurate and perform account reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing tasks.
- Assist with bank reconciliation work and petty cash control.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting.
- Organize, maintain, and file financial documents properly.
- Support internal and external auditors during audit reviews.
- Follow company policies, accounting requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Carry out additional finance tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and skills
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related subject is required.
- Applicants should have 0–2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates may also apply.
- Good understanding of basic accounting concepts and day-to-day practices.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems; ERP exposure is an advantage.
- Analytical thinking and solid problem-solving ability are important.
- Careful attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational habits are essential.
- Clear communication and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team are expected.

This role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is a full-time onsite position. The job title specifies Arabic speaking capability.
