Role overview
Imagine Everything is seeking an early-career Front-End Web Developer to help create digital experiences that school boards, students, families, and staff use every day. In this role, you will work with designers, developers, and education professionals to deliver websites that are accessible, responsive, and dependable.
What you will do
- Build and set up responsive, accessible websites in Imagine Everything's Content Manager platform.
- Create page layouts and front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while growing your modern front-end capabilities.
- Assist with content migration, page creation, website launches, and ongoing updates for school board projects.
- Contribute to accessibility compliance, responsive behaviour, and adherence to established development standards.
- Take part in quality checks, investigate front-end issues, and fix visual mismatches found during testing or project review.
- Work collaboratively with designers, developers, and school board stakeholders, and be open to feedback and established workflows.
- Use AI-supported tools where helpful for tasks such as code generation, debugging, accessibility review, content prep, and production support, while applying sound judgment.
- Continue building skills in front-end development, accessibility, responsive design, performance, and user experience.
What we are looking for
- Practical working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of responsive web design concepts and current browser standards.
- Strong organisation and close attention to detail.
- Awareness of accessibility principles and front-end best practices.
- Ability to handle several priorities at once without losing quality or consistency.
- Willingness to travel for professional development, conferences, team activities, and occasional on-site meetings.
- Interest in solving stubborn CSS issues and writing clean, orderly code is a plus.
- Experience with content management systems is beneficial.
Compensation and benefits
- Remote-first position.
- Annual salary between CAD 45,000 and CAD 60,000, depending on experience.
