About the Role
This contract position for a Java Developer is fully remote and involves contributing to the advancement of next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality backend expertise. Prior AI experience is not required, as the focus is on your skills in Java and backend development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, design, and support scalable backend systems utilizing Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and structure robust microservices architectures to fulfill complex application demands.
- Engage closely with the customer’s technical team to evaluate requirements and deliver high-standard code.
- Offer expert recommendations to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of applications.
- Participate in peer code reviews, delivering actionable and supportive feedback.
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation of technical methodologies and solutions.
- Identify, debug, and optimize backend functionality as necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Java programming language.
- Practical experience with the Spring Boot framework for backend application development.
- Comprehensive understanding of microservices architecture and design concepts.
- Proven ability to produce clean, maintainable, and efficient source code.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working remotely within dynamic, fast-paced teams.
- Solid familiarity with RESTful APIs, data structures, and backend development best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge or experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Previous involvement in AI-focused or data-heavy projects.
- Background working with distributed or high-availability systems.
