Job Overview

As a Janitor, you will contribute to maintaining Farm Boy's reputation by ensuring a clean, inviting, and secure shopping environment. Your dedication to detail, pride in your work, and customer-first attitude will support both our patrons and team members by keeping shared spaces neat and enhancing the overall in-store atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide warm and engaging service to support Farm Boy’s promise of the freshest shopping experience.
• Greet, welcome, and assist customers following our Service Standards.
• Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting to keep work and storage areas organized and safe.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of communal areas including dining spaces, restrooms, and locker rooms.
• Assist with inventory monitoring and purchasing of store supplies as directed.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies, emphasizing Health & Safety, Food Safety, and correct equipment handling.
• Execute opening and closing procedures as assigned and support teammates as needed.
• Undertake additional tasks periodically to facilitate store operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong enthusiasm for delivering exceptional, customer-focused service.
• Experience in janitorial or cleaning roles within a food retail setting is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Team-oriented mindset with effective communication and organizational abilities.
• Able to thrive in physically demanding environments involving standing for long periods, heavy lifting, repetitive movements, and the use of protective gear; exposure to noise, dirt, and cold conditions may occur.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficient in English; French language skills are a plus.
