SSC Services for Education, a nationwide leader in facility services, is seeking a Janitor to join our team. We focus on creating clean, safe, and distraction-free learning environments for educational institutions. This is a full-time position based at Moody Elementary in Pine Bluff, AR. Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of buildings. This role involves performing heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls and windows, and removing trash.

Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors using approved methods.
• Relocate equipment and furniture for cleaning purposes and return them to their correct positions.
• Clean assigned areas using provided materials and equipment, sanitizing all surfaces and following an eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to ensure a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
• Proactively identify and address areas requiring cleaning.
• Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and county guidelines in task execution.
• Perform floor maintenance, including stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing.
• Contribute positively to the team and maintain professionalism with colleagues and customers.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness to undergo a Florida Level 2 background screening if required for the position.

Eligibility

This position is open to all qualified candidates. Previous janitorial experience is a plus but not a strict requirement.
