The position is strongly analytical and suits candidates who enjoy modelling, business assessment, and solving complex financial problems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and update detailed financial models, including discounted cash flow valuations, leveraged buyout models, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and scenario or sensitivity analysis.
- Assist with underwriting and valuation work for new investments.
- Carry out research on industries, markets, competitors, and individual businesses.
- Review business models, growth levers, financial results, and principal risk factors.
- Help shape investment theses and support recommendations.
- Support financial, commercial, legal, tax, and operational due diligence workstreams.
- Coordinate with outside advisors and other transaction participants.
- Assist with execution through signing and closing.
- Prepare investment memoranda, committee papers, presentations, and related analysis.
- Present investment rationale, pricing or valuation views, key risks, and recommendations clearly.
- Help monitor portfolio company performance and track operating progress.
- Contribute to ad hoc analysis, reporting, and value creation initiatives.
Experience and requirements
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in private equity, growth equity, corporate development, investment banking, or corporate finance.
- Experience on the buy-side is strongly preferred.
- Strong capability in financial modelling and valuation.
- Good understanding of discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyouts, financial statement analysis, and corporate finance fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Very high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Someone intellectually curious, humble, coachable, proactive, self-driven, and comfortable in a lean team.
- Ability to manage several workstreams at once while working to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to take ownership and get involved in hands-on work.
- Strong written and verbal English is required.
- Knowledge of another Southeast Asian language is an advantage, especially Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, or Vietnamese.
What makes this role attractive
- Direct exposure to senior investment leaders and key decision-makers.
- Learning across the full investment lifecycle.
- Regional investment experience across Southeast Asia.
- A small team structure with meaningful responsibility from the outset.
- Strong mentoring and long-term development prospects.
- The chance to grow within an expanding private equity platform.
