Role Overview

An opening is available for an Imaging Assistant based at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr. The position begins at Band 2, with progression to Band 3 upon completion of the Imaging Assistant Competency Framework and Health Care Support Workers Mandatory Induction Standards. Hours of work are 36 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Radiologists and Radiographers in supporting patient care and various imaging-related tasks.
  • Participate actively in departmental audits and contribute to maintaining and enhancing imaging standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development as encouraged by the department.
  • Monitor patients and, after receiving appropriate training, perform intravenous cannulation.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients, including those who are seriously ill.
  • Carry out mentally and physically demanding duties within the imaging department.
