Overview
The Human Resources Trainee will assist daily operations within the TFF Americas HR department, gaining hands-on experience across payroll, HR administration, employee data management, and HRIS reporting. Reporting to the Manager of Payroll, Benefits & HR Controlling, this role is designed as a foundational opportunity to develop core HR skills and support essential HR functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing by preparing and importing employee information such as hours, salaries, bonuses, and commissions into ADP Workforce Now in collaboration with the payroll manager.
- Review employee timecards and commission calculations alongside the payroll manager, resolving any inconsistencies before payroll execution.
- Support the auditing of payroll registers and commission reports to confirm accuracy, compliance, and necessary approvals.
- Generate payroll reports including summaries, overtime, and general ledger data to aid accounting and financial reporting.
- Provide support for onboarding, offboarding, and managing employee status changes.
- Update and maintain accurate employee records across multiple HR systems including ADP Workforce Now, Oracle, and SharePoint.
- Conduct routine audits of HRIS platforms ensuring data integrity.
- Prepare required HR documentation, perform data entry, and assist with administrative processes.
- Contribute to HR reporting efforts such as headcount, turnover, and payroll analyses.
- Enhance proficiency in Excel functions like formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables to support analysis.
- Analyze HR data and trends to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Support compliance and governance activities within the HR department, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive information.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related subject area is required.
- One to two years of experience in HR or administrative roles; internships are acceptable.
- A strong enthusiasm for HR operational processes, systems, and data-centric tasks.
- Intermediate skills in Excel with motivation to progress to advanced capabilities.
- Familiarity with HR information systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now and Oracle preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Analytical thinking with an affinity for working with data and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- A proactive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to learn and grow.
