Role Summary

The Human Resources Director, reporting to the CFO, leads the creation and implementation of business-aligned HR strategies across three plants and more than 265 employees. The position encompasses strategic leadership and operational management of core HR functions such as talent recruitment, employee relations, payroll, compensation, benefits administration, employee development, engagement practices, and succession planning. It also entails advising executive leadership on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership growth, and culture enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR and benefits strategies aligned with business goals to foster organizational culture and drive performance
  • Act as a trusted consultant to executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, engagement, and workforce risk
  • Oversee performance management cycles to ensure alignment of business objectives, individual performance, and leadership accountability
  • Lead enterprise-wide talent management and succession planning, identifying critical roles and developing leadership pipelines
  • Manage strategic HR projects including organizational design, HR systems enhancement, leadership development, and culture initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and other relevant laws and regulations in HR policies and practices
  • Supervise all core HR operations such as recruitment, employee relations, payroll, compensation and benefits, onboarding, and separations
  • Lead the employee relations strategy, addressing workplace complaints, discrimination, harassment, and complex employee issues
  • Ensure compliance with Workers’ Compensation, OSHA, ACA, ISO, and related audits, managing risk mitigation efforts
  • Collaborate with external partners for benefits administration, communication, and employee support
  • Manage accurate and confidential employee record-keeping via HRIS and reporting tools
  • Support and engage in initiatives strengthening organizational culture, including events and committees
  • Provide HR guidance across managerial levels on performance, staffing, development, and organizational effectiveness
  • Offer HR leadership support in a 24/7 manufacturing context, including availability outside normal hours as needed

  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and health & safety in manufacturing settings
