Job Overview
An established company is looking for a seasoned HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental operations on a large-scale facilities management project. The role involves ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and client standards, developing safety programs, performing audits, and fostering a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the project's HSE Management System.
- Ensure conformance with company, client, and legal HSE obligations.
- Lead activities involving risk evaluation and hazard recognition.
- Carry out investigations of incidents and apply necessary corrective measures.
- Manage plans for emergency preparedness and response.
- Oversee HSE compliance of contractors involved in the project.
- Conduct internal and external HSE audits.
- Track key performance indicators and produce monthly HSE reports.
- Deliver training sessions and heighten awareness relating to health and safety.
- Engage with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Encourage and sustain a robust safety culture throughout the project.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering, science, occupational health & safety, environmental management or related fields.
- Mandatory NEBOSH International General Certificate.
- Certification as ISO 45001 Internal or Lead Auditor.
- Certification as ISO 14001 Internal or Lead Auditor.
- Training in risk assessment, incident investigation, emergency response, fire safety, and permit-to-work systems.
Experience Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in HSE roles.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial or supervisory HSE position.
- Experience preferred in facilities management, industrial operations, logistics, warehousing, food storage, port operations, or high-risk environments.
Essential Competencies
- Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Understanding of legal and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing contractor HSE performance.
- Skills in risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Capability in emergency preparedness and audit management.
- Proficiency in HSE performance reporting.
- Strong liaison skills with clients and regulatory authorities.
