Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Health & Safety Manager to join our Riyadh, Saudi Arabia team. This role is key in creating, executing, and maintaining health and safety initiatives that safeguard our workforce and ensure strict adherence to both local and global regulatory standards. The successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership and organizational capabilities, aiming to foster a culture emphasizing safety at all levels of operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and regularly update health and safety policies aligning with Saudi labor laws and international best practices.
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and hazard evaluations to identify potential safety threats and recommend controls.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to uncover root causes and enforce corrective measures.
- Maintain detailed documentation and reporting necessary for regulatory compliance and audits.
- Plan and conduct training sessions to enhance employee awareness and understanding of safety procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with supervisors and managers to embed safety protocols within daily tasks and project plans.
- Report safety metrics and incident analyses to senior leadership with actionable recommendations.
- Monitor developments in health and safety legislation and adjust policies accordingly.
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts including drills and response planning.
- Act as the main liaison for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 15 years of experience managing health and safety, ideally within consultancy, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations including Saudi and global standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills for addressing complex safety challenges effectively.
- Expertise in risk analysis, hazard identification, and investigative procedures.
- Experienced in creating and executing safety management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with experience in delivering training.
- Exceptional organizational skills with precise record-keeping.
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits and compliance reviews.
- Knowledgeable in emergency response and business continuity planning.
- Proficient with safety software tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to function independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Strong decision-making and prioritization skills under competing demands.
- Preferred certifications include NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent occupational safety credentials.
- Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is advantageous.
