Role Overview

This leadership position involves managing and overseeing the railway operations at Adani Ports and SEZ, specifically located in Gangavaram, Andhra Pradesh. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison with both local and central senior railway officials to secure approvals, clear pending invoices, and ensure smooth coordination of rail-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with railway authorities to obtain necessary approvals and manage rake allocations based on operational requirements.
• Supervise yard operations including rake loading and unloading processes, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
• Monitor and manage locomotive turnaround times, wagon turnaround times, and overall locomotive utilization, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
• Ensure all statutory compliance requirements are met diligently.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and protocols among employees.
• Oversee maintenance activities, including breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance, taking actions to achieve service quality benchmarks.
• Support business development by supplying railway intelligence and facilitate efficient port operations through effective railway liaison and traffic management.
• Handle all aspects of railway commercial operations and audits, both internal and external.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduation in any discipline is required.
• MBA or diploma in Rail Transport or Logistics is desirable.
• A minimum of 18 years of relevant experience in railway operations and commercial roles is mandatory.
