Since being founded in 1982 by John Boyle, the company has expanded across Ireland and the UK through retail shops, a betting app, and an online gaming platform serving several international markets. The organisation is focused on delivering a customer-first betting and gaming experience with greater value and broader content than its competitors.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily finance activities, including the general ledger, accounts payable, and treasury functions.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for profit and loss and balance sheet positions.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation activity and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
- Lead the consolidation of financial results across several jurisdictions.
- Monitor cash flow and optimise working capital.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, audit, and tax obligations across Ireland, the UK, and other operating regions.
- Assess financial risks and strengthen controls to reduce exposure and maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and follow through on audit actions and findings.
- Provide the Finance Director with reliable analysis, commentary, and financial information for decision-making.
- Prepare management reporting packs with performance analysis and KPI tracking.
- Support business units with financial insight to improve profitability and operational outcomes.
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance operations team to maintain accuracy, capability, and efficient processes.
- Encourage accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance across the team.
- Work closely with teams across Operations, HR, IT, Marketing, and Compliance.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager, preferably in a regulated sector.
- Strong background in managing finance operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective financial controls.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Comfortable handling both detailed operational work and wider commercial priorities.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent credential.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Strong command of statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and local GAAP requirements in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience with ERP platforms, ideally Oracle Fusion, as well as financial systems and process automation.
- Excellent analytical ability with a practical, solution-focused approach and strong attention to detail.
- Background in leading and developing effective finance teams.
- Ability to thrive in a busy, multi-site environment covering retail and online operations.
