Role overview

ABEC is hiring general operatives for two possible paths: polishing and mechanical assembly. Both roles involve contributing to the production and repair of equipment used in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Training will be provided for the duties assigned.

Polisher role

In the polishing function, you will follow work instructions to finish components to specification while coordinating with other departments to support the manufacture and repair of equipment for the biopharmaceutical industry.

Mechanical assembler role

In the assembly function, you will put together parts or finished products using a range of tools and equipment in line with required specifications.

Work environment

Selected candidates will operate in a busy, high-pace setting and work with advanced equipment used in a leading industry environment. A range of shift patterns is available.

Qualifications and requirements

A Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification is required. Previous metal work experience of two years is preferred. Applicants must be legally able to work in Ireland.

• Ability to carry out basic mathematical calculations
• Comfortable using a tape measure accurately
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Clear and confident verbal communication
• Skilled in using hand tools and basic fabrication tools
• Self-driven and able to work independently
• Capable of reading technical drawings
• Fluent English communication skills
