Role Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the studio's operation, ranging from sales management to instructor supervision. This role involves leading sales initiatives, driving membership growth, and reducing member churn. The manager will recruit, train, and oversee Sales Associates in the Perth studio, exercising discretion and autonomous judgment in managing both the studio and its employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate leads through grassroots marketing efforts and community networking.
- Establish and execute sales processes to convert prospects into introductory classes.
- Manage membership sales targets and performance.
- Organize staff schedules effectively.
- Maintain precise inventory levels for studio retail products.
- Train and supervise Sales Associates to boost sales efficiency.
- Recruit, manage, and support instructors at the studio.
- Utilize ClubReady software to generate financial and attendance reports.
- Evaluate instructors and support mentorship or disciplinary measures as required.
- Make independent decisions regarding high-level customer service issues.
- Collect any outstanding payments from members.
- Ensure the Pilates Studio remains clean and well-organized.
- Enforce all Club Pilates policies and procedures consistently.
- Keep all forms, administrative supplies, and studio literature stocked and easily accessible.
- Plan and participate in networking, community events, and studio promotions.
- Strategically manage marketing campaigns to increase lead generation for the studio.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in retail, service sales, or fitness-related sales roles.
- Proven capability to generate individual sales and coach Sales Associates to improve their sales performance.
- Experience managing and growing four revenue streams: memberships, retail sales, private training, and teacher training.
- Fluent English communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities across face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions.
- Adept at thriving in dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environments.
- Proactive in identifying areas needing improvement and implementing changes using sound judgment.
- Passionate about fitness and wellness.
- Strong writing skills and command of grammar.
- Highly organized with excellent data management skills; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanor—punctual, reliable, and neat.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Trustworthy with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and the public.
- Competent in using computers and specialized studio software.
Additional Information
A competitive compensation package will be provided, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. Superannuation contributions will be made in line with Australian statutory requirements.
