About the Role
The Trust and Safety (TnS) platform team at TikTok plays a crucial role in safeguarding users against harmful content and abusive behaviors. Their efforts enable TikTok to deliver an enjoyable user experience worldwide. The team focuses on building various platforms and tools including moderation desktop applications, low-code engines, and supportive platforms within the TnS domain.
Internship Overview
We are inviting talented students to apply for the 2026 internship program. This opportunity offers hands-on experience and exposure to real-world industry challenges where interns contribute meaningfully to trust and safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in developing systems and tools that enhance content safety workflows, ensuring they are reliable and intelligent.
- Design effective safety strategies and promote automation to improve content governance.
- Address diverse technical challenges spanning frontend, backend, desktop, and web technologies.
- Work collaboratively with product, algorithm, and operations teams to support continuous innovation and implementation.
- Contribute to building intelligent agents powered by large language models (LLMs) to optimize performance and user experience.
- Participate in global projects focused on content governance, gaining insights into cross-regional and cultural compliance complexities.
Internship Terms
- Applicants may apply to up to two positions, which applies globally across TikTok and subsidiaries.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and early application is recommended.
- Internship duration must be a minimum of 3 months.
- Available internship periods are from January to June or May to August (summer).
Candidate Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or postgraduate student in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Demonstrate strong learning enthusiasm, self-drive, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
- Show excellent team collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for shared growth.
- Preferred: keen interest in content safety and governance and readiness to tackle complex system challenges.
