Role Overview

The Floral Studio Assistant will help the Chicago floral team by supporting the Operations and Warehouse departments. Reporting to the Studio Manager, this role involves managing fresh flower shipments and ensuring the freshness and organization of products for weddings, events, and daily deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect fresh flower shipments daily, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Address any issues with damaged, excess, or incorrect items.
• Organize fresh floral materials for production teams effectively.
• Maintain fresh flower care and ensure coolers are sanitized.
• Perform additional preparation and cleaning tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well in a team and organize tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking and prioritization capabilities.
• Composure in busy, high-volume environments.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfort with standing for extended periods.
• Computer literacy.
• Preferred: knowledge of floral varieties or willingness to learn.
• Preference for Spanish speakers.

Compensation and Work Schedule

This position starts part-time on an hourly basis, Monday through Friday, with some weekend and holiday work required, including early mornings. The pay range is between $18 and $23 per hour.
