Fitout Site Engineer

Job Overview

The Interior Fit-Out Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities related to interior fit-out projects. This role ensures projects meet safety standards, are finished on schedule, stay within budget, and comply with approved drawings and quality criteria. The engineer manages subcontractors, communicates with consultants and clients, monitors project progress, and assures adherence to UAE standards and regulations.

Key Duties

• Oversee daily site operations for various interior fit-out projects, including commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, and office spaces.
• Ensure that work aligns with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to align site activities.
• Examine architectural, joinery, MEP, and shop drawings to confirm proper implementation and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Develop work schedules and track project milestones to guarantee timely delivery.
• Conduct frequent site inspections for compliance with quality, safety, and project mandates.
• Coordinate with procurement to secure timely arrival of materials and equipment.
• Supervise labor productivity and effectively allocate resources.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates to the Project Manager.
• Prepare progress reports on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
• Validate site measurements and prepare material requisitions as needed.
• Manage snagging, inspections, testing phases, commissioning, and handover procedures.
• Engage with consultants for inspection and approval processes.
• Ensure strict adherence to UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support resolution of technical issues on-site by implementing corrective measures.

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.
• Experience ranging from 4 to 8 years in interior fit-out projects within the UAE or GCC region.
• Demonstrated involvement in high-end commercial, hospitality, residential, retail, and office fit-out undertakings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of interior fit-out construction techniques, materials, and finishes.
• Competence interpreting architectural, structural, joinery, and MEP drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is advantageous.
• Awareness of UAE building codes, authority procedures, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
