Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee site safety in collaboration with the Mercury Safety Advisor, which involves creating, managing, and closing safety documentation.
  • Manage site Quality Assurance alongside the Mechanical Package Manager, including setting up and closing QA files.
  • Coordinate project scheduling with other trades, Package Leads, consulting engineers, and client expectations.
  • Assist in managing all costs linked to the fire protection package, covering the Mercury Mechanical Team, subcontractors, material deliveries, plant and equipment, project variations, and valuations.
  • Supervise daily on-site operations and subcontractor activities, tracking schedule progress and manpower; conduct weekly meetings with subcontractors.
  • Administer the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system by submitting weekly punch lists where applicable.
  • Report labour hours for both direct labour and subcontractors to the time administrator for centralized tracking.
  • Participate in site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning, coordination, and handover meetings.
  • Finalize all project close-out documentation, such as operation & maintenance manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA files, with assistance from the Mechanical Package Manager.
  • Implement weekly look-ahead schedules to ensure effective coordination with other trades.
  • Issue comprehensive weekly internal progress reports highlighting completion percentages based on work breakdown structure (WBS) codes, identifying concerns and potential risks like delayed deliveries.
  • Schedule and monitor material deliveries to align with the project timeline.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably required by the company, which may involve adapting to changes in work patterns and business needs.

Essential Requirements

  • Competency with computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing substantial construction projects.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for the role.
