Fire Exec - CHO Steady State

Role overview

This position is responsible for operating the fire station and carrying out associated activities to help maintain readiness for emergency response. The role supports the availability of emergency vehicles and firefighting equipment so that fire-related incidents can be controlled and mitigated in line with established fire safety policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the organization’s fire safety policies, procedures, standard operating practices, and integrity requirements to support dependable fire safety services.
• Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends so that fire safety systems and processes can be improved over time.
• Apply incident command and control methods during emergencies, and take part in firefighting and rescue activities when required.
• Assist in the investigation of fire-related incidents, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions to reduce the chance of repeat events.
• Carry out routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of firefighting systems and equipment, and report any faults or inconsistencies.
• Monitor the readiness and reliability of firefighting equipment, emergency vehicles, and communication systems across fire stations so they remain operational at all times.
• Carry out emergency response actions for fire calls and support daily fire drills to strengthen response capability.
• Help ensure compliance with fire safety standards, checklists, and procedures, and support measures that reduce non-compliance.
• Maintain logbooks, occurrence records, and other shift-related documentation to meet fire safety compliance requirements.

Education requirement

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A science background is preferred. Fireman certification is also required.

Experience requirement

0 to 3 years of relevant experience is needed.
