Finance Controller

Overview

The Finance Controller role is responsible for managing critical financial operations including accounting, cash flow, compliance, and reporting to ensure the organization's fiscal health and adherence to legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all routine accounting processes such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations.
• Closely monitor and forecast daily cash flows to maintain sufficient working capital and operational liquidity.
• Establish and enforce strong internal controls and financial procedures to minimize fraud and control expenses effectively.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities efficiently and deliver accurate financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements to senior management.
• Analyze budget versus actual results providing insights to boost profitability and implement cost-saving measures.
• Ensure compliance with Indian taxation laws by timely filing GST returns, calculating TDS/TCS, and managing corporate income tax obligations.
• Handle statutory filings with regulatory bodies such as the Registrar of Companies and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
• Coordinate external and internal audits to guarantee accuracy and transparency of financial records.
• Work collaboratively on the annual budgeting process and provide financial modeling to support strategic decision-making regarding investments and growth opportunities.
• Manage banking relationships and banking facilities including credit lines and working capital loans to optimize financial resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Academic credentials: Chartered Accountant (CA), Inter-CA, MBA in Finance, or M.Com with extensive corporate accounting knowledge.
• Experience: 5 to 8+ years in finance and accounting roles with at least 2–3 years in senior managerial positions within MSMEs or manufacturing/service industries.
• Proficient with Tally Prime or comparable ERP platforms such as SAP B1 and Zoho Books.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and financial modeling techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), GST compliance, and income tax filing processes.
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills for conveying financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
