Job Description
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC located in San Jose, CA is seeking a File Clerk to support the Criminal Defense Department. This position involves various administrative and clerical duties including filing, retrieving files, distributing mail, making copies, scanning documents, and creating new files for new contracts. The File Clerk will report directly to the assigned Criminal Defense Attorney.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in a team setting to prepare legal documents efficiently.
- Organize, distribute, and track documents following departmental guidelines.
- Distribute mail both to departments and individual staff members.
- Ensure proper filing, preparation, and scanning of all documents and correspondence.
- Maintain detailed logs of incoming documents and manage filing accordingly.
- Support all other general administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED, or higher.
- At least 1 year of experience proficient in Microsoft Excel including editing, sorting, filtering, and saving spreadsheets with the ability to handle complex data.
- A minimum of 1 year of office work experience.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
