Field Waste Representative - Class 2

Role overview

Safetykleen is looking for a hands-on Field Waste Representative in Exeter to join the local team. This is a Monday-to-Friday daytime position with no weekend or Bank Holiday working, offering a varied route-based role where each day brings different customer visits and operational tasks.

You will spend most of your time travelling between customer sites, maintaining strong working relationships and delivering a professional, approachable service. The role involves the safe collection and exchange of waste streams, including non-hazardous, low-hazardous and hazardous materials, while helping customers remain compliant and supporting a cleaner, safer environment.

No prior background in the waste sector is required. Full training is provided, along with support to work toward an ADR licence as you grow in the role. The position also offers a supportive team environment and clear opportunities to progress.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out 9 to 11 customer visits per day to collect and exchange non-hazardous, low-hazardous and hazardous waste streams.
• Load and unload drums and containers safely between the vehicle and customer locations.
• Develop positive, long-term relationships with customers across different industries.
• Work with the Branch Manager and customers to meet service needs and resolve operational queries.
• Use handheld tablets and CRM tools to plan routes, manage service activity and keep workloads on track.

What you need

• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• A valid Class 2 Category C driving licence.
• Confidence working on the road and engaging with customers.
• Good communication skills and a strong customer-service mindset.
• Willingness to learn; previous waste industry experience is not essential because full training is provided.
