About the Role
RFNOW Inc. is inviting motivated candidates to join their team as Fiber Optic Splice Technicians. This role involves preparing, installing, maintaining, repairing, and connecting fiber internet infrastructure essential for reliable broadband services.
Key Responsibilities
- Splice and test fiber optic cables for both indoor and outdoor plant applications, including buried and underground lines, on new and existing installations.
- Analyze test outcomes, identify faults, and troubleshoot to resolve defects efficiently.
- Accurately interpret placing and splicing work plans to execute assignments effectively.
- Work independently or collaboratively with team members to ensure clients' deadlines are met, demonstrating self-motivation and discipline.
Required Expertise and Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer is beneficial, although training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to understand and interpret placing and splicing plans.
- Familiarity with OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) and other fiber testing protocols is an asset.
- Valid driver's license is mandatory; candidates must be able to provide a driver’s abstract.
- Willingness to travel to various work sites as workload requires.
- Availability for overtime, including night and weekend shifts, to meet project commitments.
- Capability to work in diverse weather conditions.
