Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Puducherry, India for an Epub and XML Operator. The role focuses on converting, formatting, and validating content into structured XML and EPUB outputs while meeting client requirements and industry norms.
What you will do
- Transform source content into XML and EPUB formats with accurate structure and formatting.
- Prepare input files, apply appropriate tags and styles, and ensure the output meets specification.
- Run quality checks, identify formatting issues, and resolve technical or production-related errors.
- Work with project teams to deliver assignments within agreed timelines.
- Maintain process documentation, update templates, and contribute to workflow improvements.
- Coordinate with editors, developers, and project managers to support accurate and timely digital production.
What the role requires
- Hands-on knowledge of XML and EPUB, including structuring, creation, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Working understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic XSL or similar markup-related tools.
- Experience with digital publishing and converting Word, InDesign, or PDF files into XML/EPUB.
- Strong attention to detail for proofreading files, verifying layouts, and checking consistency.
- Comfort using XML editors, EPUB validators, and production workflow or version-control tools.
- Prior exposure to e-publishing, typesetting, or digital content operations is preferred.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, plus the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Problem-solving ability, clear communication, and teamwork mindset, with a willingness to learn.
- A diploma or degree in any discipline is acceptable; publishing, IT, or computer applications training is an advantage.
