English Teacher

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our academic department on a permanent basis, reporting to the Head of Secondary. This role involves creating a stimulating and respectful learning environment, with a strong focus on motivating and challenging students to achieve high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and uphold high expectations to inspire and motivate students across diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
• Establish a safe and engaging classroom atmosphere based on mutual respect.
• Be responsible for students' attainment, monitoring their progress carefully and adapting teaching plans to build on existing knowledge.
• Encourage students to engage thoughtfully with their own learning and take responsibility for their studies.
• Maintain strong subject expertise in English, promoting literacy, articulate communication, and continuous scholarship.
• Develop well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and knowledge while providing effective homework and extracurricular activities.
• Differentiated teaching to accommodate various learning needs, including those with special educational requirements, disabilities, or English as an additional language.
• Utilize assessments effectively to gauge student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback.
• Enforce clear behaviour policies to promote a courteous and positive school environment, managing classes effectively and establishing consistent disciplinary frameworks.
• Take part actively in the broader school community, including extracurricular programs and contributing to curriculum development.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies, prioritizing students' safety and school property.

Professional Conduct

Consistently demonstrate high standards of ethics and behaviour, showing respect and safeguarding students' well-being while observing school policies and cultural expectations. Maintain professionalism both inside and outside school premises.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in teaching from a recognized institution.
• Valid teaching certification recognized by Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
• At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience.
• Fluency in English language is essential.
