Engineer - Equipment Maintenance

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Engineer specializing in Equipment Maintenance to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience for candidates with a Bachelor's degree or 7 years for those with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering. The position involves hands-on work with high voltage transmission substation equipment, ensuring reliable operation and safety compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, testing, and upkeep tasks on 400/132 kV transmission substation equipment to guarantee operational integrity.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), power transformers, shunt reactors, and their auxiliary systems.
• Identify and resolve faults in circuit breakers, disconnectors, earth switches, control mechanisms, interlock systems, and alarms.
• Act promptly to alarms issued by equipment, conduct thorough investigations into technical problems, and assist with root cause analyses.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols during maintenance activities, particularly within energized transmission substations.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
• Exhibit effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English to ensure clear technical interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• At least six years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or seven years with a Diploma.
• Comprehensive knowledge of high voltage transmission substation equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Proven ability to analyze faults and perform effective troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
• Strong command of English for technical discussions and documentation.
