Maximus is a global organisation providing health and employment services to millions annually. In the UK, Maximus employs around 5,000 staff to deliver impactful services ranging from health assessments to employability programs and specialist support.
Role Overview
As an Employment Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with a caseload of customers, helping them overcome barriers to employment. Through motivation and empowerment, you will support individuals in gaining the skills and confidence needed to secure and maintain employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload using diverse coaching strategies to prepare customers for job search and interviews.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand customers’ situations, preferences, and barriers to progress.
- Collaborate to create personalized, SMART action plans including sequenced interventions and development options.
- Utilize local specialist services to address specific customer needs such as substance misuse, anger management, debt, health, or vocational training.
- Identify employer recruitment needs and perform tailored pre-screenings and group assessments.
- Co-develop effective in-work support strategies with participants and employers.
- Engage actively in continuous improvement to maintain service excellence.
- Adhere strictly to company policies covering data security, safeguarding, and health & safety.
- Work from local hubs and community outreach centers, occasionally in partnership with housing, health, and primary care services.
Candidate Profile
- Strong customer focus with commitment to excellent care.
- Team-oriented with a positive, adaptable approach to work.
- Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proven ability to deliver services that meet contract and quality standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Zoom, and Google digital tools.
- Excellent communication skills including listening, questioning, and relationship building.
- Creative problem solver with a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges.
- Capable of planning and organizing workload to meet deadlines and targets.
- Experience in Welfare to Work or similar roles is advantageous.
- Knowledge of employability industry desirable.
- Previous recruitment experience is a plus.
